Michael Cummings, Chief Executive Officer, commented on the winter league saying, "We are very pleased to provide this opportunity to players that they may have an opportunity to be scouted by Major League Baseball and other Professional Baseball Leagues throughout the US and International community. Players will get contracts within the AWBL and other organizations, and that is the sole purpose for this winter league."
