You have a very solid point about the possibility of protests....and there being a distraction that would take away from the media exposure. I hadn't thought about that before sending my "invite." (I e-mailed this one last night rather than snail mail).
The last time I wrote to the POTUS it took a LONG time to get a response, so I don't think that an e-mail 2 weeks in advance has even the slightest chance of being seen before the SHM actually occurs.
I just figured, what do I have to lose (and figuring like that has gotten a lot of unusual things accomplished in my life!).
