AWBL and Former Major League Players Partner Together With League Wide Investment and Acquisition of the Fullerton Territory Rights

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., Dec. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Embark Holdings, Inc (OTC:GFMD) subsidiary American West Baseball League today announced that Edinson and Edgar Renteria have agreed to invest an undisclosed amount into the American West Baseball League for an ownership interest and also have acquired the territorial rights to Fullerton, Ca., the home of the Fullerton Flyers.
Edinson Renteria played professional baseball for 9 years as a utility player with clubs such as the Houston Astros and Florida Marlins. Edinson holds the position of President with LIGA COLOMBIANA DE BEISBOL PROFESIONAL (LCBP), a professional baseball organization out of Colombia and oversees many other business interests.
Edgar Enrique Renteria, nicknamed "The Barranquilla Baby," is a Colombian former professional baseball shortstop. He threw and batted right-handed. He played for the Florida Marlins, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Boston Red Sox, the Atlanta Braves, the Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds. Edgar attended 5 All-Star games, won 2 World Series, 3 Silver Slugger awards as well as 2 gold glove awards and in 2010 earned the World Series MVP award. In 1997, Colombian president Ernesto Samper presented Edgar with Colombia's highest honor, the "San Carlos Cross of the Order of the Great Knight." Today, he runs Team Renteria with his brother Edinson helping Colombian baseball by giving professional instruction to Colombian professional baseball players and holding youth clinics for amateurs.

American West Baseball League was formed in 2012 and will play its inaugural season in 2013. The league was founded by Michael Cummings, after acquiring 2 teams which played in another league that ceased operations 30 days after the acquisitions.
Cummings, a Southern California native, decided to create a new league that would support the team members and their organizations, provide an opportunity that ball players would be looked at by scouts and other leagues, all the while providing Fun Friendly, Family Entertainment. AWBL will operate in cities not served by Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is an Independent Minor Baseball League. Though not part of the official minor league system, its level of play is considered to be comparable to A-AA level.
