GoPro Inc. may have closed its entertainment division, botched two product launches and fired a bunch of people in the past 12 months, but some analysts are encouraging investors to hang on.
GoPro GPRO, -7.72% reported on Thursday slightly better-than-expected sales and stronger-than-expected adjusted earnings in its first positive report in several quarters. Its shares jumped nearly 4% in after-hours trading Thursday following the results.
However, those gains were completely wiped out on Friday.
GoPro stock plummeted nearly 8% on Friday, pushing it down more than 17% in the past three months and 35% in the past year. The stock has vastly underperformed the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.19% , which is up 4% in the past three months and 15% in the past year. Shares of GoPro closed down 7.7% to $8.25 on Friday, their seventh-ever lowest close.
