One positive note is Dolby Vision is backwards compatible and will play the older HDR10 and the newer HDR10+ BUT HDR10+ is not backwards compatible. Given it's Samsung and Amazon, two very large players in the 4K HDR environment how is this going to effect UF?
Sony apparently has decided to use Dolby Vision now, so I'm just wondering if we'll exclusively be using that same encoding format too or if the David Foley has come up with a way to incorporate both together or separately. Either way, he told me his goal "is to have the best version of any movie on any platform at any time". I absolutely believe he's gonna do just that it's just a matter of how. Exciting times.
