My gut reaction is that something or someone caused CTIX to change plans after the initial announcement, otherwise they would have stated a presentation rather than a call. I sure hope that your scenario about the potential partner is not the case. That would be pretty shitty to have the group you are supposed to trust screwing you over like that. Sad to say with as cutthroat as some of these companies are it would not surprise me in the least.
The optimist in me thinks that something changed, but that it is not due to nefarious reasons. I am feeling like it was a miscommunication with the company they are in talks with and that company asked them to hold off on the call, so CTIX had to revise the plan and gave a presentation instead. I think that agreement(s) are being drafted and negotiated as we speak so that upon official completion and good final trial results CTIX has a new partner and funding source.
