Gen. Keane: China Has Taboo Option to Assassinate
Post# of 50224
Retired General Jack Keane said China has the option to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in order to halt the country's intercontinental nuclear threat .
Keane clarified that the possibility of such a move is very remote and the subject is likely too taboo to discuss diplomatically with other concerned nations.
But, he said that if Kim was killed, it could result in a military or other type of coup that could produce a better leader.
The 33-year-old Kim is the third in his family to serve as the country's leader.
His father Kim Jong-il from 1994 to 2011 and was preceded by Kim Il-sung, an ally of the former Soviet Union.
Keane said that Chinese President Xi Jinping promised President Trump he will aid in denuclearizing North Korea through tougher sanctions.
Xi recently turned back a shipment of North Korean coal bound for a Chinese port, in favor of American supplies.
Keane said on "The First 100 Days" that a populist uprising is unlikely because of how the Kim family has intimidated the people.
He said the North Korean population is malnourished and shorter in stature than their neighbors in South Korea.
But Keane expressed optimism that China was willing to break 25 years of relative inaction against Pyongyang.
