Maya Vovchuk to Lead Sterling National Bank’s Ex

MONTEBELLO, New York, April 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sterling National Bank, the principal subsidiary of Sterling Bancorp (NYSE: STL ), announced today that Maya Vovchuk has joined the bank as SVP and Head of Cash Management. Vovchuk will report to Vinny DeLucia, EVP and President of New York Regional and New Jersey Markets.

As part of Sterling’s continued growth and business diversification, the company is expanding its Cash Management team. In support of this primary strategic initiative, Vovchuk will lead a team of 18 professionals focusing on business development, relationship management, and client retention across Sterling’s growing cash management business. She will also be responsible for market development and client delivery, in addition to ensuring that Sterling maintains its market-leading cash management capabilities.
Vovchuk has a proven track record of success in the New York metro banking market, as well as broad national and international experience. Prior to joining Sterling, she was SVP and Head of GFI Referral Services at Wells Fargo Bank, where she managed a team of nine relationship managers, sales, support and service staff in New York and San Francisco. Before Wells Fargo, she was SVP and Head of Global Transaction Services & Alliance Management Services at Global Correspondent Banking International, where she managed and recruited relationship and project managers in New York, San Francisco, and Minneapolis. She has also held leadership positions at Wachovia Bank, Bank of Tokyo–Mitsubishi, Commerzbank AG and Primerica Financial Services.
