That board has a history. Just as it is important to do DD on the company, I recommend doing DD on the board. No need to go into detail. I will leave it up to you with what you find. When investing money, you need to be VERY careful of everyone that provides info that may influence your decisions.
Since I have skin in the game, I watch everything closely. I then take the data and try to determine credibility (not by listening to others but going to sources to validate).
Where there is money, there are thieves. Not trying to scare but just be careful and do research when investing.
