Huckabee Says Dems
'All Bark, No Bite' Toward Putin

Mike Huckabee argued this morning that President Donald Trump is proving that his administration will not be friendly to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as Democrats have continuously claimed.
He highlighted the fact that President Obama did not enforce the "red line" after Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons in 2013. Huckabee added that Obama then "did nothing" after Putin sent his forces into Crimea in 2014.

On the other hand, Huckabee said Trump acted swiftly and sent the message to Assad and Russia that the United States will not tolerate the use of chemical weapons.
"Who is it that Russia is more afraid of? Somebody who sends a strongly-worded letter or somebody who sends a Tomahawk missile?" he asked.
He recalled that it was the Obama administration, with Hillary Clinton as secretary of state, which sought a "reset" in relations with Russia. The former Arkansas governor recalled Barack Obama telling the Russian president in 2012 he'd have "more flexibility" in negotiations after the election.
"If Democrats came back in another life, they'd come back as chihuahuas. They do a lot of barking, but they really don't have much bite."
Huckabee added that Democrats have been trying for months to convince people that Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson are "pals" with Putin.
Tillerson met yesterday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, with Huckabee describing the face-to-face as "frostier than a Siberian winter morning."
"The big difference is Russia now understands they're not dealing with a pushover country, they're not dealing with an administration that just looks the other way at whatever they do," he added.
