Vishay Intertechnology Extends Useful Life of 500

MALVERN, Pa., April 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH ) today announced that the company has extended the useful life of 500 V devices in its 159 PUL-SI series of snap-in power aluminum capacitors. For solar PV inverters, industrial motor control, and power supplies, the Vishay BCcomponents devices now offer a useful life of 5,000 hours at +105 °C.
Featuring a cylindrical aluminum case with a pressure relief valve, insulated with a blue sleeve, 159 PUL-SI capacitors are available in a variety of case sizes ranging from 22 x 25 mm to 35 x 60 mm. Offering rated voltages from 200 V to 500 V, the devices feature high ripple current to 2.80 A, maximum ESR down to 150 mΩ at 100 Hz, and a maximum operating temperature to +105 °C.
As polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a non-solid electrolyte, the 159 PUL-SI series devices are ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, and energy storage in pulsed power applications. The RoHS-compliant capacitors are also available in a keyed polarity snap-in version.
