... telling Paul Begala, who called Trump a “pathological liar”, that such statements are simply an attempt to undermine the Trump presidency.
Since when does pointing out the continual stream of lies coming out of Trump’s mouth, and the mouths of his spokespeople, an attempt to do anything other than the obvious – i.e. point out the lies?
It is Trump’s lies that have undermined his own pResidency from day one – literally. Are we supposed to forget that the Idiot’s first days in office consisted of a barrage of lies about the size of his Inauguration crowd, where we were told not to believe our own lyin’ eyes and instead accept that a brazillion people showed up?
Are we meant to ignore the lies about Trump having won the popular vote, or the lies about millions of illegals having voted in the last election?
Are we supposed to pretend we never heard Trump lie about Obama “tapping his wires”, a claim that was immediately and thoroughly debunked by the FBI and the DoJ? How about the current lies about Susan Rice’s “criminal activities”, which have been proven to be completely legal activities carried out as a normal course of her job?
Seriously, Ari, do you not understand the simple premise that when someone lies – repeatedly, continuously, and somewhat laughingly – it is the LIAR who is undermining his own credibility, and not the people who notice the lies and comment on them? Do you not appreciate that when a liar is called a liar, it’s about the lies and not about some nefarious conspiracy to cast them in some negative light for political purposes?
Jesus Hussein Christ. When a pathological liar – who Trump has repeatedly proven himself to be – gets called-out on his lies, that’s democracy in action, Ari.
If Trump and his cohorts don’t want to be “undermined” by their own lies, there’s a simple way to end that: Stop telling lies. NO lies told means NO lies to be pointed out, focused-on, highlighted, opined upon, discussed, and/or laughed at for their sheer stupidity.
Get it now, Ari? What you’re preaching is akin to telling people that we should simply accept lies as the truth, lest any questioning of those lies be construed as, uh, questioning those lies – and heaven forefend that any American do so.
Apparently, you think the citizenry should “re-accommodate” the truth by embracing “alternative facts”.
BTW, what’s your position on the Bowling Green Massacre? I wouldn’t want to think you questioned that particular lie – which could be seen as “undermining” the administration you feel should never be questioned under any circumstances.
So I’m curious as to where you stand on the issue. How about the millions of “illegals” who voted last November – any thoughts on that?
Just wonderin’, Ari – wonderin’ how far you, and other Trumpsters, are willing to sink by saying that lies aren’t really lies – and if they are lies, we should all ignore them in order to support the lying liar who tells them.
