The FACHE credential represents high achievement and standards of professional development, with only an estimated 9,000 health care executives having earned the distinction. Eighteen Cerner executives are Fellows of ACHE and the company has committed to support more than 70 Cerner leaders in attaining Fellow status during the next three years.
“The health care management field plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to the people in our communities, which makes having a standard of excellence promoted by a professional organization critically important,” said Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, president and CEO, ACHE. “By being board-certified in health care management as an ACHE Fellow, health care leaders demonstrate their commitment to excellence in serving their patients and communities.”
To earn the FACHE credential, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits, demonstrating professional/community involvement and passing a comprehensive examination. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and are required to undergo recertification every three years.
The Cerner executives who earned the FACHE credential in 2016 were:
- Laurie Gehrt, vice president, Consulting
- Chad Greeno, vice president, Population Health Consulting
- Nancy Higgins, manager, Clinical Adoption
- Ryan Owings, solution executive, Perioperative Operations
- Stephanie Rogers, senior director, Consulting
- Mary Beth Russell, manager, Cerner Healthe Clinics
“Cerner is a strong supporter of the ACHE Fellowship program as a powerful tool to strengthen the industry expertise of our associates,” said Zane Burke, president of Cerner. “Fellows are uniquely qualified to understand the challenges and opportunities our clients are facing as health care continues to evolve. Through our involvement with ACHE, our associates also gain a better grasp of how Cerner can help position our clients for success and how our collaborations contribute to shaping the future of health care.”
