In his Talking Points Memo tonight, Bill O'Reilly reacted to the Trump administration's decision to order airstrikes on a Syrian air base, and what message it sends to the world.
On Friday night, 59 U.S. Tomahawk missiles pounded the Shayrat air base, which is where the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is believed to have launched the planes that dropped sarin gas on civilians.
The horrific chemical attack - which left dozens of men, women and children dead - was at least the fifth time the Syrian dictator has violated the Geneva Conventions and used poison gas to kill civilians, according to reports from a variety of agencies.
"Most sane people support the missile attack last night," O'Reilly said. "The morality of the attack is certainly acceptable. When you have war crimes being openly committed, a noble nation will confront that."
He added that the U.S. also needed to take action for our own national security interests, because once the use of chemical weapons becomes acceptable, the world quickly becomes a "very dangerous place."
He said it's clear that President Trump is going to have much different foreign policy than President Obama's "strategy of retreat."
O'Reilly noted that not only did the Obama administration refuse to take action when Assad crossed the infamous chemical weapons "red line," it then struck a deal with the regime.
"Donald Trump is sending a message to the world," O'Reilly said. "The USA will not tolerate war crimes or threats from nations like Syria."
"Even most of the Trump haters in Congress agree that if we can stop children from being gassed to death, we should do so."
