Of course nothing is guaranteed in the U.S. with regard to cannabis based products, however if U.S. actions actually totally prevented product sales here, I still see the company being very successful. At first sales might only be available in Israel, but with evidence of efficacy, I believe it would rapidly spread to many of the nations in the world, even if the U.S. balked.
I believe that cannabis based products are proving effective in several diseases that cannot be denied. Enforcement agencies around the world are opening themselves up to at least the use of cannabis based drugs, and many are seeing benefits of its recreational use as well.
Certainly the U.S. is the worlds most lucrative drug market, we represent something like 5% of the worlds population, and pay something like 35% of all the money spent on drugs. Clearly something is wrong with this picture, but in at least the first Republican attempt to end Obamacare, I saw nothing that would change these ratios. I would hope that in time the Federal Govt. would recognize the State's rights to regulate recreational use of marijuana, but with FDA approval of drugs, they should be available everywhere. This still leaves the grey areas where medical marijuana is approved for products that don't have FDA approval, and I believe that would remain, and probably eventually grow to the point that it's available practically everywhere.
Ultimately, because it will bring in added tax dollars, the legalization of marijuana is bound to happen. I believe that over time much the same will be said for bookmaking and prostitution as when you legalize it, you also tax it and eliminate the gang influence in these industries.
Decades ago Las Vegas opposed the idea of Indian Casino's opening everywhere, but they learned they were wrong. It turns out that once people try their local casino, it sets off a desire to go to the Mecca of Casino's, they just keep building new ones there.
When you treat growing various forms of cannabis like any other crop, farm profits will rise dramatically, and so will the taxes they pay. To me, little is more disturbing than seeing someone driving a car that costs hundreds of thousands and wondering if it was paid for by illegal drugs, gambling, or prostitution. I'm all for legalizing and taxing these things, and I believe in so doing you actually clean them up as well, and reduce crime.
