Crunch, I am not surprised foreign companies have difficulties getting a foothold in China as I have read ExIm Bank accounts of all the red tape and that Chinese business law makes it difficult for outsiders to sue Chinese companies. Thats why the QMCA Joint Venture makes so much sense. We supply the technology, they supply the money and manufacturing, and we split the profits.
Regarding handsets, those 2 links I posted yesterday, re BOE/AMQLED and BOE/Apple seem more relevant.
I read the handset article you linked, lots of manufacturers - do you know if these Chinese handset manufacturers make their own displays or do they contract that out?
