$GBL PART TWO The son of Italian immigrants, Mario was born in the Bronx and went to Fordham Preparatory School there. Next he won a scholarship and graduated from Fordham University summa cum laude. Adding an MBA from Columbia and seasoned at a Wall Street research boutique, Mario started up his own tiny firm in l977. Today it's GAMCO Investors (NYSE: GBL) with billions under management and numerous Gabelli Funds (http://www.gabelli.com).
