I gave up hoarding wine for a special day because
Post# of 22457
because my (adult) kids kept drinking it!
So if you are saving one, enjoy it while you can,
and buy a better wine when the time comes.
South of the City of Sonoma, and just past
the Sonoma Raceway are Jacuzzi Winery and
Cline Winery, both with great wine and free
wine tastings. My family likes to visit these
and have a picnic at Cline after the tastings.
There are hundreds of wineries in Sonoma
and Napa, but we hardly ever get past these
two gatekeepers of the area. Its a fun day.
The next winery north is Gloria Ferrer, famous
for their bubbly and the landscaping and restaurant
are excellent, but its not our thing.
Many years ago I read a book, the Millionaire Next
Door, and the takeaway was they don't live lavish
lifestyles, but got to be millionaires by planning and
habitual economies. They lived comfortable lives
and saved for their futures, but no excesses.
On the other hand, also years ago, I saw a great
documentary on people who win the big lottery
and go from poor to unbelievable wealth, and then
lose it all and become poor again, through poor
money management and financial inexperience.
Sticking to a budget is like sticking to a diet, both
can be hard without total buy-in, focus and purpose.
Enjoy your day!
