Just one more of the dumb bills that were passed eons ago and not revised.
How about the 1872 Mining Law that was passed to encourage mining development in the US? This bill allows companies, many of them foreign, to take $1 BILLION a year from our public lands without paying royalties. It allows the destruction of our public lands along with environmental damage and pollution.
Congressional efforts to overhaul the 1872 Mining Law stalled in 2009 as Pelosi was too busy pushing Obamacare!
