Solar roof tiles could be made with QD, no doubt.

Do expensive roof tiles and electric cars help the environment?
Musk sells his toys by figuring in the savings of renewables
versus the retail cost of electricity or similar standards to
cost justify the investment. Its a small start, and expensive.
Besides limited efficiency (less than solar panels, I would think),
product failure and replacement and longevity issues, solar will
be constantly getting more efficient, year by year, and in 5 years,
your roof might be obsolete. It is very possible that the energy
produced by newer systems more efficiently cost justify the
replacement of the original system. Can these be recycled?
When light-weight, flexible QDSC solar becomes mass
producible at a fraction of today's production costs we will
see advances in the global warming fight.
IMO The faster we get to that day, the better, and the money spent on
solar roof tiles would be better spent on QDSC development.
