The "odd' size cans cost more due to the special set up adjustments they have to make at the bottling plants. Yet another advantage to having your own bottling facilities. I'm guessing that in night clubs and bars the 12 or even an 8 oz. would be popular for mixers. It's just a matter of preference anywhere else, but if sales are strong enough in alternate sizes they'll should eventually expand their size options here in the states as well.
The 16 oz. cans are the preferred size option of the big retailers like 7 Eleven and Walmart. Makes sense to make that available to them as soon as they express interest which is exactly what they did. Good things are coming due to that. Really good things!
