Yuma Desert Rats Releases new Logo
Along with the announcements of naming 1986 National League Manager of the Year Hal Lanier as their manager,
the signing of local Yumans Jake Thrower, as hitting/infield instructor and LHP James Kuzniak, the Yuma Desert Rats
proudly unveiled their new logo. The logo was designed by local Yuma graphic designer Ron Hayes of the Big Onion
Media Group and was unveiled in an interview at Desert Sun Stadium with Yuma’s local NBC affiliate KYMA. Thrower
and Kuzniak also signed their contracts with the Desert Rats during the interview.
“We are excited to begin this new professional baseball endeavor in Yuma and feel that the name and the logo
convey a message that is uniquely Yuman. One that we can all be proud to support and promote throughout Yuma as
well as the larger professional baseball community throughout the country. We are very proud of the logo as well as
the people that we are bringing into the organization. We feel that this type of positive exposure can help to brand
Yuma, Arizona as a baseball destination throughout the baseball world,” says owner Tim Ferguson. “We have some
exciting things to bring to Yuma and will be making further announcements shortly,” Ferguson adds.
Now with the release of the logo, the Yuma Desert Rats will be unveiling their website, merchandise, season ticket
sales information, sponsorship opportunities and event planning.
