PR and Financial Releases StanleyK, I appreciat
Post# of 990
StanleyK, I appreciate the press releases, but when I read them, they are redundant, primarily boilerplate, and often not relevant to operational or financing activities that directly impact the bottom line. They are getting a little better recently, but I don't need to read two pages to see that a group of states passed hemp legislation. A sentence would suffice. All the fluff about the triple bottom line and company history could be shortened to a small paragraph and a link to the company's website.
I'm aware of the reporting requirements under the law. Just because they aren't legally obligated to publish them doesn't mean I don't want them to. I really like to see an audited financial statement, and when I don't, I start to worry about the decisions the company is making.
I'm excited about the prospects of the business and the difference it can make in American agriculture, however, from a realistic standpoint, at some point they will need to quit burning cash and start booking revenue.
It is a very simple business proposition, buy raw hemp or kenaf from farmers, process it, and sell the processed fiber, seeds, oils, etc at a profit. These ancillary activities are certainly good PR and may be necessary to help get the supply side off the ground, but the lack of transparency on the financial side is frustrating.
I am hoping that by voicing my concerns in public forums like this one, the management may take notice and do the right thing. I live less than an hour from the plant so if they are really interested in meeting, I'd be happy to do so, but I'd rather not waste their time. I want them making $$$ selling hemp
