American Health Council Names Edmund C. Landry, M.D. to Physician Board

NEW YORK, March 22, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Edmund C. Landry, Orthopaedic Surgeon at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center and Kennett Orthopaedic Center, has been selected to join the Physician Board at the American Health Council. He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise on General Orthopaedic Surgery and Knee Replacement Surgery.

Dr. Landry offers valuable insight in his role as the Orthopaedic Surgeon at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center and Kennett Orthopaedic Center. With over three decades of experience in Orthopaedic Surgery, his day-to-day responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care for two rural facilities in the underserved counties of Southeast Missouri, elective orthopaedic surgical procedures three days a week, and serving as an emergency room orthopaedic backup fifteen days per month with frequent emergency surgeries. Kennett Orthopaedic Center serves as a private practice owned by Dr. Landry located in Kennett, Missouri that utilizes the latest technological advancements to diagnose and treat any issues that can interrupt the musculoskeletal system. His treatment specialties include arthritis, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, sports medicine, and trauma/ fractures. 

In 1977, Dr. Landry graduated with a medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. To further his professional development, he completed an internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in 1978. In 1981, Dr. Landry completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Tripler Army Medical Center. He is American Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Landry maintains affiliations with the American College of Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Missouri State Medical Society, and Southern Medical Association. He volunteers with the Boy Scouts, United Way, and LSU Alumni Association.

Through the course of his professional career, Dr. Landry has held several notable appointments such as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine (1984-2000), Adjunct Clinical Professor at A. T. Still University, Assistant Professor for the Adjunct Clinical Faculty, at Kansas City University of Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor of the NYIT College of Medicine at Arkansas State University.

His commitment to the field of General Orthopaedic Surgery has led to recognition as the Chief of Surgery at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Landry has been awarded the 2012 Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and received a press mention in Fierce Healthcare in June 2013.

Among his many professional accolades, Dr. Landry is most proud to have been instrumental in providing the first permanent MRI machine in a rural area and the ability to provide quality orthopedic care in rural Missouri.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling and photography.

Considering the future, Dr. Landry hopes to integrate a hospital outpatient rehabilitation program as well as post-operative pain management.
