Getting a Traditional Judge Like Gorsuch on SCOTUS Is 'Vital'
The confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court is the "most important political story of the year," Bill O'Reilly said in his Talking Points Memo tonight.
O'Reilly explained that Gorusch, who serves on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, is philosophically independent and a Constitutional originalist.
"All judges in America should have one rule: What was the intent of the original Constitution?" O'Reilly said. "If they reject that, then they make decisions based upon their politics."
He said that Democrats will strongly oppose Gorusch because they want a liberal, activist judge on the highest court in the country.
O'Reilly ripped Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) for stating during Gorusch's confirmation hearing that she believes the Constitution is a "living document, intended to evolve as our country evolves."
"Intent, not evolution, should be the litmus test of constitutional law," O'Reilly said. "And that's why a traditional judge like Neil Gorsuch is a vital situation."
