During a conference call, the Company’s President Fabrice Orecchioni, attributed the disappointing results to “pricing pressures” and “a disruption from a large customer that was expected to purchase 2.8 million of succinic acid in Q4 2016, but due to a technical problem in its manufacturing facility postponed the order to 2017.”
After the announcement, BioAmber’s share price fell from $3.14 per share on March 16, 2017 to a closing price of $2.55 on March 17, 2017—a $0.59 or a 18.8% drop.
