They are trying to conflate the old PolyMedix drug

I remind people again: do not let your doctor give you fluoroquinolones for anything but life-threatening infections. Here's a list:
Drugs in class: Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Ofloxacin, Moxifloxacin, Norfloxacin, Nalidixic acid, Enrofloxacin, Gemifloxacin, Sparfloxacin, Lomefloxacin, Pefloxacin, Trovafloxacin, Marbofloxacin, Pipemidic acid, Oxolinic acid, Besifloxacin, Danofloxacin, Fleroxacin, Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride, Orbifloxacin, Difloxacin, Sitafloxacin
A colleague is now permanently in a wheel chair, taking anti-seizure medications, because he took two doses of Levaquin and had a terrible reaction. This is not as uncommon as one would think, although usually it's "just" things like tendons rupturing.
When people like Feuerstein claim that transient and mild tingling and very brief rises in blood pressure experienced by a few people in the Brilacidin trial will be enough to prevent Brilacidin's approval -- look at the side effects of approved antibiotics. Many approved antibiotics have very severe side effects yet they are approved. Brilacidin's possible mild and quickly reversed side effects are much less that those of the Quinolones.
