That's exactly right. Additionally, since scrap plastic prices vary with the price of oil, oil prices won't make a difference. "Waste plastic" is a myth--recyclers want plastic, even co-mingled plastic.
Founder Mr. Bordynuik was highly deceptive and even outright lied. The "fuel" sales in the past??...conveniently Mr. Bordynuik purchased "Robbins Feed and Fuel" from his relative...and Robbins sold fuel. Mr. Bordynuik put Robbins Feed and Fuel into PTOI's "P2O" division.
If you look through PTOI's filings or news, nowhere does it make it clear that any "fuel" sold was from conversion of plastic. If it were, PTOI would be dumb not to make that fact crystal clear. The fact that it's obfuscated indicates deception.
There's a thing called a "value proposition." If any investor can articulate PTOI's value proposition, or how PTOI adds value, I would love to hear it. I'll bet no investor can do that.
PTOI says, "...converts waste plastic into fuel (Plastic2Oil), without the need of further refinement."...but plastic itself is a fuel. A householder blender also turns plastic into fuel without the need for further refinement. Investors can poo poo that and say that 'diesel' is implied...but then why wouldn't PTOI simply shut down the skeptics by saying it can produce in-spec diesel cheaply from easily-sourced waste?? Why wouldn't PTOI be be clear unless their intent is to deceive investors?? If the only problem is that PTOI is "bad at communicating," why not hire an English major to write the sentence I just wrote in order to clearly communicate PTOI's value proposition to investors??
