Our Mission Statement
BMTS is dedicated to providing optimal economic and environmentally sound solutions to biomedical waste management. We are deeply committed to continual improvement and refinement of our patented technologies in support of customer needs and compliance issues. Moreover, BMTS is actively engaged in educational efforts and devoted to developing a novel waste reclamation program in support of a safer, healthier environment.
Overview
BioMedical Technology Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BioMedical Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc., provides innovative solutions for environmentally friendly disposal of biomedical waste. Located in Englewood, Colorado, the Company sells and leases the patented Demolizer® II System, the GREEN alternative to biomedical waste disposal. BMTS offers safer, more environmentally sound, biomedical waste treatment solutions for medical, dental and veterinary offices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other health care facilities.
History
The original patented Demolizer® biomedical waste processing system was developed in 1993 by Thermal Waste Technologies, Inc. (TWT) and has successfully completed over 300,000 processes. In 2005, the Demolizer® patented technology was acquired by BioMedical Technology Solutions, Inc., and the Demolizer® system was enhanced with advanced quality control, hardware and remote diagnostics. BMTS introduced the Demolizer® II in late 2006, a reconfigured, improved version, which uses the patented Demolizer® technology.
Intellectual Property
Our technology is protected by our existing patent and patents pending worldwide on the system and the collectors. We are constantly researching and developing improvements to our technology and continue to protect our intellectual property enhancements with additional filings.
The Market There are more than one million low to medium volume generators of medical waste in the United States, and millions more worldwide. The Demolizer® II system is well-positioned to capture significant biomedical waste management market share in nursing homes, clinics, veterinary, public venues and military health care facilities. |

Future Plans The home health care (self-injector) market, although not rigorously regulated currently, is the source of billions of injections in the United States alone. Increasing pressure for regulatory oversight of the home health market will set the stage for market entry of the home Demolizer® unit currently in the initial design phase. BMTS is also actively engaged in finding environmentally friendlier ways to process biomedical waste. We are currently researching and working to develop recycling programs for our technology, including a 100% recyclable filter and an effectively and thoroughly recycled Demolizer® technology processed end-product. | ||

Veterinary Medicine | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
There are approximately 55,000 veterinarians in private practice in the United States alone. An additional 8,000 treat animals as part of their role in academic and government positions. In veterinary medicine, potentially infectious wastes are produced as a result of routine examination, immunizations and treatment. In light of growing concern regarding the danger of zoonotic disease, proper handling and disposal of such wastes are necessary for the safety of both veterinary staff and waste management personnel. The Demolizer® technology is the ideal on-site veterinary biomedical waste disposal solution for:

Simple to Operate After the process is complete, waste is rendered sterile and can be tossed into the common trash. Secure Your Confidence in a Proven Technology Incineration is the leading cause of dioxins and other harmful toxins entering the environment. Unlike incineration, the dry heat technology used by the Demolizer® II does not emit harmful fumes into our atmosphere. Because processed waste is sterile, and sharps are rendered unrecognizable, dangers from toxic exposure or needle sticks are eliminated. The Demolizer® II system is designed to meet or exceed the standards or guidelines for biomedical waste treatment by the EPA, CDC and state regulatory agencies. Laws and regulations for medical waste treatment and disposal are managed at the state or local level. The Demolizer® technology has been reviewed by over 78 governmental agencies and is either formally approved or meets regulatory requirements for treatment in 47 U.S. states .

Government Applications | |
---|---|
There are approximately 1.5 million active duty military personnel in the United States armed forces and another 1.2 million on the reserve rolls. Healthcare in support of military missions is frequently dispensed by means of mobile services (air evacuation, naval ships, ambulance) and field care (temporary treatment facilities). The U.S. Air Force employed Demolizer® technology in theatre , to effectively process waste on site. | |
Future plans for BMTS BMTS is committed to working with the armed forces medical branches, as well as the Department of Homeland Security, to offer the innovative Demolizer® technology as a solution to their unique biomedical waste disposal needs. |
Public Venues | |
---|---|
There are virtually hundreds of thousands of public settings where biomedical waste is generated in the form of both sharps (e.g. syringes, razors) and red bag biomedical waste:
Additionally, restrooms located in public settings often serve as a makeshift facility for self-treatment, producing potentially infectious waste that should be properly processed for safe disposal. |

Environmental Responsibility
Before Demolizer® technology, there were only two disposal choices for low - medium biomedical waste generators . | ||
Landfills
Incineration
| | |
The Demolizer® II is a safer choice for our environment. Landfills also create public health risks. Unprocessed red bag waste could emit potentially hazardous disease and toxins. Recognizable sharps present the greatest risks through their potential for accidental needle sticks. Unlike incineration, the dry heat technology used by the Demolizer® II does not emit harmful fumes into our atmosphere. Because processed waste is sterile, and sharps are rendered unrecognizable, dangers from toxic exposure or needle sticks are eliminated. BMTS actively promotes environmental responsibility. Restoring a healthy environment is critical. BMTS dedicates our time and resources to create solutions that help turn the world's present challenges into cleaner, safer options for our generation and the generations to follow. BMTS values greener solutions. | ||
The BMTS Health and Environmental Foundation E very business has an impact on our health and environment. We want to have a positive impact, not only on our customers, but also on the people they serve, and their options for doing business. Protecting the health and safety of our planet and the people that live here is crucial. That's why BioMedical Technology Solutions, Inc. is developing the BMTS Health and Environmental Foundation , a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, providing support for charitable organizations dedicated to research and relief of catastrophic diseases and environmental issues. |

Diabetes Facts: 27% of individuals with diabetes worldwide require 1.5 injections daily to effectively treat diabetes. Each year, a further 7 million people develop diabetes worldwide . 25 billion injections are required to treat diabetes worldwide annually. By 2025, the largest increases in diabetes prevalence will take place in developing countries. The number of people diagnosed with Diabetes is expected to grow to 54 billion worldwide by 2030. Diabetes is expected to cause 3.8 million deaths worldwide in 2007, about 6% of total global mortality, about the same as HIV/AIDS. |
