Outokumpu delivers stainless steel quarto plate to

Outokumpu delivers some 500 tonnes of Forta DX 2205 duplex stainless steel for the second-phase development of Jiaxing Petrochemical Co Ltd’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) production facility in Zhejiang province, China. This investment in a new PTA production facility extends the company’s capacity by 1.2 million tonnes.

The stainless steel quarto plates are supplied to NanJing Duble for fabrication and manufacturing into pressure vessels. The company is typically engaged in design, manufacture and installation of pressurized equipment within the chemical and pharmaceutical segments.

“The project is designed according to INVISTA specification, and Outokumpu has been specified and finally selected among other international stainless steel suppliers. Outokumpu has a long experience in delivering the selected stainless steel grade Forta DX 2205, which has high strength and good corrosion resistance that will ensure long service life. Thanks to Outokumpu’s consistent quality and having the material delivered in tailored dimensions, customer gains efficiencies in amount of materials and welding,” says Kenan Cosic, Project Sales Manager, Oil & Gas at Outokumpu.

Jiaxing Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is part of TongKun Group, listed chemical company in Zhejiang, China. In addition to extending the capacity of the PTA facility, this new investment will strengthen the supply chain of PTA for chemical fiber production by TongKun. Deliveries started in late 2016 and project will be completed within two years.
