London, England, March 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Haute Route–Europe’s most notable cyclosportive events and soon to become America’s--is set to land on U.S. soil this June with the Mavic Haute Route Rockies. In additional to growth into North America, new 3-day events have been added on Europe’s fabled Alpe d’Huez and Mont Ventoux, plus the inaugural 2018 Maserati Haute Route Norway.
The Haute Route, owned by OC Sport, began in 2011 with the Haute Route Alps, and have now expanded with 7-day events in the Pyrenees, Dolomites, Swiss Alps, and Rockies for 2017. Additionally, the 3-day Haute Route Alpe d’Huez and Haute Route Ventoux events will debut with a more accessible race format with three timed stages around one single host town.

Inaugural 2017 Mavic Haute Route Rockies
The first edition of Mavic Haute Route Rockies is set for June 24-30. After departing the host city of Boulder, riders will cover 507 miles with 16 ascents, gaining nearly 50,000 feet in elevation before arriving in Colorado Springs seven days later. The route covers epic terrain, including the 12,095 foot high Independence Pass and spectacular Kebler Pass into Crested Butte.
Like all Haute Route events, Haute Route Rockies will feature timed and ranked stages that give amateur riders a unique stage race format and pro experience that includes full mechanical assistance on the road from the event’s Title Partner Mavic. If competition isn’t the experience participants are seeking, riders can simply enjoy the sights at a more leisurely pace. In addition to daily stage timing and numerous feed stations on each stage, riders will also receive breakfast & dinner, daily massages, and daily transfers of luggage.
