Remember how the bashers were so anxious to find out where the Bril-UP trial was? And how we repeatedly posted here about how it was good that "they" didn't know where the trial was, because it prevented them from the kinds of well-documented actions hedge funds have taken in the past? Those actions being: hiring investigators to try to get information about how the trials were going -- both by identifying patients in the trials (literally hanging around the trial sites, getting license plate numbers, and checking social media) and by trying to talk to patients, medical professionals, and even janitors, to try to get advance information. This is fact, not conjecture.
In one particularly egregious case, one drug appeared to fail because the placebo arm unexpectedly seemed to work as well as the experimental drug -- the placebo effect in that study being far, far higher than the documented placebo rate in other studies. The suspicion that those placebo results had been tampered with seems very likely to many of us. I congratulate CTIX on being able to keep the location secret.
