Solar Wind Energy Tower Demonstration
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Company has filed numerous patent applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect its intellectual property. The Company has been awarded two patents, and currently has two other patent applications which have been designated with a “Notice of Allowance” and is awaiting issuance of the actual patent documents. The Company has judiciously pursued the patent applications that it feels are instrumental to the core development of its technology and project.
Patent #8120191 Issued 2/21/2012 “Efficient Energy Conversion Devices & Methods”
This patent covers a novel hydraulic system capable of maintaining high efficiency hydraulic to electric conversion under a wide variance of wind speeds, as coupled to a plurality of wind turbines in wind tunnels.
Patent #8,517,662 B2 Issued 8/27/2013 “Atmospheric Energy Extraction Devices & Methods”
This patent covers a structure for producing electricity, specifically a Tower capable of adding moisture at the top of the structure to hot-dry air so as to generate a downdraft of wind within the interior of the Tower, vanes coupled to the exterior of the Tower that at least partially define a plurality of elongated pockets to the exterior of the Tower, and flaps located to redirect the incident wind downwards into tunnels to convert wind to electricity.
Patent #8,643,204 B2 Issued 2/04/2014 “Efficient Energy Conversion Devices & Methods”
This patent enhances and broadens previously issued Patent #8120191
Patent #8,727,698 B1 Issued 5/20/2014 “Atmospheric Energy Extraction Devices & Methods”
This patent claims are targeted to represent the advantages of the new Tower structural shape, the configuration of the Tower walls, their composition as well as the wall thicknesses for a given height, along with more efficient construction methodology and enhanced wind force resistance over prior Tower designs.

Last year SWET also received a preliminary commitment for financing of the estimated $1.5 billion project, Pickett said, but finalizing the deal requires the Maryland-based firm to have the necessary construction permits. But getting the permits depends on the engineering and the design being wrapped up.

"Additionally, the Company announced that its majority owned single purpose project development company, Arizona Green Power LLC (AGP) had executed a new five year "Development and Development Rights Agreement" with the City of San Luis, Arizona. The Agreement provides for the necessary permits and rights of way needed to complete the development of a Solar Wind Energy downdraft tower project in San Luis, Arizona. The Agreement also guarantees the project a 50-year water supply agreement by the City. The Agreement replaces a similar shorter-term agreement between the Company and the City that was set to expire in June 2017."

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- (Marketwired) -- 03/08/17 -- Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. (OTC PINK: SWET) (the "Company" , the innovator and creator behind the Solar Wind Downdraft Tower structures capable of producing abundant, inexpensive electricity to meet the world's increasing demand, announced today that it has negotiated and executed a fifth amendment to the original contract to purchase 640 acres of land in San Luis, AZ.
The agreement was executed between the four owners of the property and both Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. and Arizona Green Power LLC, established by the Company to develop the downdraft energy tower in San Luis, AZ.
The Purchase amendment follows a recent announcement that Arizona Green Power LLC had executed a Five Year Development and Development Rights Agreement with the City of San Luis, AZ to support the permitting and development of the downdraft energy tower on the site. The agreement with the City of San Luis also provides for a 50 year water supply agreement to support the water needs of the project.
Ron Pickett, CEO of Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. and Managing Member of Arizona Green Power LLC commented: "The signing of these agreements resolves a development issue that was potentially impacting the project. Both agreements were originally set to expire in 2017. The purchase amendment extended the outside closing date until December, 2018 and the agreement with the City will support a closing by December 2018 and up to three additional years of coverage during construction."
The following is a status update for the San Luis project:
No additional deposits required to purchase 640 acre project site until closing.
Closing can be extended until 2018
Zoning approved
Property ingress and egress in place.
50 year municipal water supply municipal agreement in place.
Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (REPS) pre-certification eligibility status received from California Energy Commission.
Defined pathway for grid access.
IT and proprietary software protection
IMPLAN Study by independent consultant projects $2.8 billion economic impact for the region and the generation of 19,000 indirect jobs.
Estimated up to 2,000 construction jobs and hundreds of skilled permanent jobs.
Estimates for the output of electricity at this site are 3.7 million megawatt hours/year. That same amount of electricity generated from fossil fuel based plants could consume 6.8 million barrels of oil, 29 billion cubic feet of natural gas, or 2 million tons of coal annually. The Solar Wind Tower can eliminate up to 3 million metric tons of CO2 discharge annually when compared to a fossil fuel fired facility.
The Company expresses its gratitude to both the City of San Luis, Arizona and the owners of the site for their confidence and continued support for this project.
