Confusion Over Separate Dispute Between Audrey Hepburn’s Sons and Dispute Between Hepburn Charity and Sean Ferrer, Lawyer Says

LOS ANGELES, March 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Disputes between sons of actress and fashion icon Audrey Hepburn and between the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund and Sean Ferrer are on separate tracks. A lawsuit by the Audrey Fund Children’s Fund is ongoing against Hepburn’s eldest son Sean Ferrer, claiming he is interfering with the charity’s work for his own benefit, the Fund’s attorney, Steven E. Young of Freeman Freeman & Smiley, said today.

That suit against Ferrer was filed in early February in Los Angeles Superior Court, but Ferrer hasn’t responded to the suit and has avoided being served with court papers, Young said.

The Fund raises money for children’s charities with exhibits of other Audrey Hepburn memorabilia based largely around a collection of extraordinary gowns designed by world-renowned fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy and worn by Hepburn.

At issue in the suit is the right for the Fund to continue using Audrey Hepburn’s name, likeness and image in connection with exhibitions of her memorabilia to raise money to provide support for children in need. Hepburn’s younger son, Luca Dotti, is chairman of the Fund and supports continuing its mission. Ferrer alleges the Fund cannot do so without his permission.

Separate from the Fund’s lawsuit, Ferrer and Dotti are in dispute over some other Hepburn memorabilia.
