I'm not sure why it would necessarily be a conflict of interest. It would give the company an opportunity to present their technical data to the authors of the study so that they would have a better comparison to the other system they highlighted in the study (burning plastic along with other MSW to cogenerate electricity).
Dr. Castaldi seemed interested in hearing from the company and my original response from JB made it seem like there was interest on that end as well.
I agree that there are numbers in the study for the company to use. They could provide a road map for expansion. But it looks like New York is a great place to start.
I'd put California before Florida, though, due to the amount of plastic waste there.
I'd put Connecticut and Massachusetts ahead of Florida due to the the management of their plastic waste stream.
I'd put Texas ahead of Florida for the tonnage of coal that could be replaced by using plastic to oil as an alternative.
But Florida is up there in terms of how much they would benefit from plastic waste to energy to replace current methods of electricity generation.
