U.S. jobless claims fall 12,000 to 350,000
Holiday plays role; monthly average is lowest since March 2008
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Applications for new unemployment benefits fell last week to one of the lowest levels of the year, but the decline may have been exaggerated by the Christmas holiday.
Initial jobless claims dropped by 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 350,000 in the week ended Dec. 22, the Labor Department said.
