When I was having to travel for work in and out of Asia, I always took extra money with me to hand out to the children. It's so very disheartening to see how some of the regions use their own children to beg for money from others. I discovered these kids being used like this on many trips. That is being used by their parents to beg for money and then once the kids got the money the parents took it right away more often than not. Many of the kids would say their parents didn't let them use the money for the things they all needed. With that, I started carrying clothes and shoes with me along with the extra money. Shoes in some of these regions are VERY hard to come by. I'd always make sure I bought several pairs of new shoes with me along with some new clothes. Then I could at least put some clothes and shoes on the kids as well as give them money which went to their parents for whatever they wanted or needed.
Some people frown about giving money to people on the streets. Even here in the US it's pretty much illegal to hand out money to people on the street. In the Dallas metro area it's illegal to hand out money at least! When I know I'm going to areas of the Dallas metro, I usually carry canned goods with me as well as clothes to hand out. A lot of people don't believe in handing out money to these people, but at times I do just that! I don't care what they use the money for, that's their business. And NO IM NOT A BLEEDING HEART LIB either, haha. I look at it like, "who am I to judge anyone"! Most of these people are just trying to make it day by day which can happen to any of us! ROCK ON RMHB!!
