Gingrich: Trump Is Surrounded by Bureaucrats Who Want to Destroy Him
President Donald Trump has leveled the explosive allegation that former President Barack Obama ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower during the presidential campaign.
The allegations came as part of a string of tweets the president sent out Saturday morning:
On "The O'Reilly Factor" tonight, Newt Gingrich said that Trump is understandably "furious" about ongoing leaks coming out of the intelligence community and from within his administration.
"He is surrounded by people who wish to destroy his administration," Gingrich said. "They are leaking like crazy ... And I think if you were Donald Trump, you'd be pretty furious and you'd feel like the old order's against you."
Gingrich said he doesn't know what specific evidence Trump has that Obama ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower, but said that a huge percentage of the Washington, D.C. establishment is anti-Trump.
Bill O'Reilly said it "makes him sick" to read reports about the Trump administration, which cite anonymous sources and are published purely to "destroy the president."
He said that Trump, however, shouldn't accuse a former president of wiretapping him without proof.
"If the president doesn't have at least strong circumstantial evidence that Trump Tower was tapped, he should correct the record," O'Reilly said. < >
