(NYSE MKT:HEB) (the “Company” or “Hemispherx”) announced today that it has met a major milestone, the commencement of sales of recently manufactured Ampligen in international programs. Hemispherx has also reinitiated its US-based cost recovery program at the price increase recently approved by the FDA. Hemispherx has initiated an accelerated production plan with both its primary and secondary contract manufacturers in order to meet the anticipated future demand for Ampligen in both international programs as well as cost recovery programs.

The production of new Alferon ® API inventory will not commence until the validation phase is complete.
