I would like to address the Unistrip product because it appears to be a big favorite around here.
Unistrip has had two FDA ordered recalls for labeling violations. The second recall was particularly bad because it involved information withheld during the first recall. The notification to diabetics on the Unistrip site is particularly troublesome because it involves product manufactured in 2014. Usually when there is a recall the notice to users remains up for only 6 months. The FDA must smell a rat.
However, FDA recalls are a fact of life, but the latest FDA action is much, much worse. In November 2015 an EMT organization reported a near death from a diabetics use of Unistrip. The Unistrip contract manufacturer in Taiwan is now under investigation because of similar problems with another product sold by the sister company to Unistrip.
Unistrip has been banned from Amazon because of the FDA recalls and because the adverse reporting by users of Unistrip reached 40% of the total Amazon reviews.
Before deciding that tis company and its products are the cats meow, a little research should be in order.
