The concept of 'millionaire' is unobtainable to most simply because we're told from a young age that it cant be achieved.

"Stop dreaming and get a real job"
"what are you going to do with your life"
"go to college, get a good job"

None of these will make us millionaires. In fact, did you know the system is set up in a way to be sure you never become a millionaire? Think about it.. want a great paying job? Go to college. Oh wait.. college prices go up every year for no reason.

I had to write a paper on this years and years ago. its a vicious cycle. My college tuition went up in one year $1,500. For what?? Nothing changed! We got no new printers, the food was crap, we still paid for books.. nothing changed. yet every single student paid $1,500 more. thats $45 MILLION extra dollars in the college's pocket.. in ONE year. youre telling me the light bill went up $45 MILLION???

Add to this the fact that we're given the wonderful opportunity to finance our degrees. "Take out a loan! YAY!" oh wait.. now you have $130,000 in debt that you will NEVER pay off.

See? The system is literally there to keep us poor. Yes, i do realize many people become successful and rich through their hard work and studies. But you’re trying to tell me that only 1% of the world’s population is willing to work hard and 99% of the rest of the world is lazy and couldn’t make more money if the opportunities presented themselves? Please!

Read my articles on debt:

http://investorshangout.com/post/view?id=4365236

of course, the second that spark of hope goes off in our heads that we can become financially free and independent from debt..

..we get a credit card offer in the mail, "Interest free for 6 months!"
and
"Use your tax refund to buy youre next flat screen TV!"

and the biggest killer of our bank accounts..

"Buy the new iPhone! For only $400!!..plus fees.. text, internet usage, surcharges, monthly fees..."

WE ALREADY OWN AN IPHONE! WHY BUY A NEW ONE JUST BECAUSE THEYRE SELLING IT?? ugh.. im going to rant again.

Of course, AAPL solved this problem by making their phones obsolete in just a few years time. So, you have a perfectly, good working phone.. but it wont update to the latest security settings because it 'cant handle the new updates'. This of course makes us spend hundreds of dollars on a new phone, just to repeat this cycle every 2 to 3 years. Years ago, you bought a rotary phone...

.....and.. you USED it. Done. No fees, no surcharges. You bought a phone. You used it. But today, we're lied to that we 'need a phone' on us at all times.. that we literally NEED a phone on us at all times. We make excuses such as, "I need my phone for emergencies," yet all we do is stare at the glass screen and play 'Robocow Attack II' all day at work.

See how subtle these companies are? They literally make us feel worthless without their product.

Dont believe me? Those old enough to remember.. dont carry your phone today. Live like it was in the 80s. We survived, right? But for some reason, we can not live our day without a phone in our hand. Its a literal addiction.

..and with that addiction comes big profits for the manufacturers.

If youre struggling with debt, go to bed every night wondering how the heck youre going to pay your electric bill... yet you own the latest and greatest phone, TV, and car... stop wondering why you cant pay your bill; your answer is because you own the latest and greatest phone, TV, and car, when you should be owning a less expensive phone, a regular old TV, and a used car until you can pay your bills.
