I went to college with Karen and Richard Carpenter at CSULB.
They sang in front of the bookstore every few Fridays, while we sat on the lawn eating our sack lunch and smoking Alcalapolco Gold.
The performing arts center was named after them.
Very tragic when we lost Karen.
