President Donald Trump sat down for a wide-ranging exclusive interview with "Fox & Friends" Tuesday morning from the White House.
Among the topics he discussed was his decision to skip this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 29.
"I have great respect for the press. I have great respect for reporters and the whole profession. Now with all of that being said, I just thought it would be better if I didn't do the dinner," Trump told Ainsley Earhardt, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade.
The interview also focused on what Trump will be saying in tonight's address to a joint session of Congress.
"All I can do is speak from the heart and say what I wanna do," Trump said about speaking to a large audience.
He said he will discuss his new health care plan tonight to repeal and replace Obamacare.
"We're coming out with a health care plan that I think will be terrific. It will be inclusive and will really do what people want it to do," Trump said.
He said too much money is currently being spent on individual military equipment and he will look to change that.
"We're gonna get involved in negotiating," the president said. "We're going to I think get a lot more product for our buck. ... We will be having the greatest military we've ever had by the time I finish."
