Michigan for one. You can't pay on average 64 k per year for 9 months of work. Then pay out 80% of that after 30 plus benefits...then get a social security check on top of that.
I know a couple taught 30. 52 now drawing full teacher retirement and now have moved on to the State. If they buy in at 5 then at 67 they will get between the 3 close to $125k each in retirement pay. Who gets to pay for that if retirement funding is at 10%?
