Warren Buffet Just Humiliated Trump In Front Of The Entire World – Tantrum Coming

Warren Buffet, billionaire and longtime supporter of Hillary Clinton, delved into politics in his annual letter to Berkshire investors. The billionaire’s annual letter has been a tradition for years and many experts consider them some of the best investing advice around.
However, this year, he took a backhanded swipe at Trump by discussing America’s economic prosperity and arguing that America is, in fact, already great.

‘Our efforts to materially increase the normalized earnings of Berkshire will be aided – as they have been throughout our managerial tenure – by America’s economic dynamism. One word sums up our country’s achievements: miraculous. From a standing start 240 years ago – a span of time less than triple my days on earth – Americans have combined human ingenuity, a market system, a tide of talented and ambitious immigrants, and the rule of law to deliver abundance beyond any dreams of our forefathers’
There are two points that really stick out there. The first is that Buffet, unlike Trump, acknowledges the importance of immigrants to America’s success. In fact, CNN recently reported that immigrants were more likely to start businesses than natural-born citizens. Trump’s nationalism is not only a threat to American values, it is a threat to America’s economic prosperity.
Another major issue Buffet touched on was the importance of rule of law. In order for a nation to be free and successful, everyone must be treated equally under the law. Everyone from the richest CEO to the salesperson is entitled to justice. Granted, the U.S. system is far from perfect and the high cost of legal fees and attorneys does skew things in favor of the wealthy, but Trump is doing nothing to correct this issue.
From there, Buffet went on to argue that, despite the issues facing America, the economy was still going strong.
‘You need not be an economist to understand how well our system has worked. Just look around you. See the 75 million owner-occupied homes, the bountiful farmland, the 260 million vehicles, the hyper-productive factories, the great medical centers, the talent-filled universities, you name it – they all represent a net gain for Americans from the barren lands, primitive structures and meager output of 1776. Starting from scratch, America has amassed wealth totaling $90 trillion.
‘…. I’ll repeat what I’ve both said in the past and expect to say in future years: Babies born in America today are the luckiest crop in history.’
This is one issue where we have to part ways with Buffett. A large part of the reason many Democratic primary voters flocked to Bernie Sanders’ campaign was because they feel that children born today, as well as young adults entering the workforce, are not the luckiest crop in history. America has created massive wealth, but we face a serious problem in terms of distributing that wealth.
Part of the reason Trump was so successful this time around, in addition to some aid from Putin, was that a lot of people are desperate and hurting. In their desperation, they turned to a demagogue who promised to make things better. To be clear, Clinton was by far the superior choice, but Trump managed to tap into real problems facing America. His solutions, rooted in nationalism and xenophobia, will only make things worse, but he did correctly identify the problem. If the Democrats want to retake Congress and the White House, they need to offer real solutions to the problems of wealth inequality while still standing up for all people.
