New poll shows Trump’s approval rating on the rise

President Donald Trump’s approval rating is rising, according to a daily poll from Rasmussen Reports on Wednesday.

The poll found 55 percent of likely U.S. voters approve of Trump’s job performance, while about 45 percent disapprove.

That figure represents a rise from the last daily tracking poll from Rasmussen, which was released Tuesday and showing a 53-percent approval rating for Trump.

The poll, which surveyed 1,500 people has a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points, found that 38 percent “strongly agree” and 36 percent “strongly disapprove.” It’s a change from Tuesday’s findings, which showed that 37 percent “strongly approve” and 38 percent “strongly disapprove.”

In a press conference on Wednesday, Trump made reference to the most recent Rasmussen poll, announcing to the audience that his approval rating is at 55 percent.

Rasmussen also found that about 48 percent of likely U.S. voters believe that individual reporters at media outlets are against the president, and only 12 percent believe they show a bias that favors Trump. About 31 percent think most reporters are “fair and balanced,” Rasmussen found.

In the same press conference, the president criticized a number of mainstream media outlets, describing the media landscape as “out of control.”

“The media’s trying to attack our administration because they know we are following through on the pledges that we made, and they’re not happy about it,” Trump said at the White House, according to a live stream of the press conference.

Americans, he claimed, do not trust the media.

“The public doesn’t believe you people anymore,” he said.

A recent poll from Gallup noted that voters simply don’t trust the mass media, with only 32 percent of respondents saying they have a great deal of trust in the Fourth Estate."
