Well that was because the obstruction from the GOP was immediate and total. So too the persistence of the birther bullshit as part of an overall strategy to delegitimize Obama as both a man and a president.
And off course we were in the midst of the worst economy of the modern era with a sharply rising unemployment rate, 10% by 10/09, and negative GDP growth from peak to tough of -5.1%.
Plus Trump is off to a disastrous start, ethically and professionally, for him and for the U.S.
