Gowdy: Trump's Immigration Order Can Be 'Easily Re

Senator Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) believes issues with President Donald Trump's executive order barring immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries can be "easily remedied."
On "The First 100 Days" tonight, Gowdy said he was not surprised that Trump's travel ban was blocked by the liberal-leaning Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He said that Trump, however, could rectify the order's shortcomings by delineating categories of people entering the U.S. from the seven countries listed.
Gowdy explained that a U.S. citizen is entitled to the "full panoply" of constitutional rights, while at the other end of the spectrum, a Yemeni citizen has no constitutional protections or right to due process.
"With different categories, like non-immigrant visa holders vs. U.S. citizens vs. non-U.S. citizens, there's a different legal analysis," Gowdy said.
He said it's up to President Trump's legal advisers to provide evidentiary basis for that argument that will withstand a court's scrutiny.
"His executive order is pretty easily remedied, and you can remedy it without going to the U.S. Supreme Court," he said.
