Google uses the PageRank algorithm (named after Larry Page/Founder of Google). The PageRank algorithm uses a logarithmic scale which basically means that it measures frequency by orders of magnitude.
The best analogy that I like to remember about a logarithmic scale is that it's like an earthquake. We learn what the magnitude of an earthquake when we measure depth, distance, time, frequency, etc.....there is nothing linear about this measuring scale, it's a nonlinear approach. Same with how google ranks pages, it isn't a linear approach.
So when 90% of the NTEK longs moved over here, we took our earthquake to investorshangout.com and the rest is history!
Here's a diagram of the PageRank Algorithm.
