In continuing with his theme of meeting with industry leaders of the business world, President Donald Trump met Thursday at the White House with top executives in the airline industry.
He said the airline industry supports over 10 million well-paying U.S. jobs and creates over $1 trillion in economic activity.
"Really big stuff," the president said.
Trump continued that the air traffic control system has become obsolete and the regulations against the airline industry are a "disaster."
If we are going to be modernizing our systems, we should be using the right equipment," he said.
Trump said his goal is to have the traveling public experience the least amount of inconvenience possible.
"Airports are very important to me; travel is very important to me," the president said.
He said the methods to reach these goals include rolling back regulations, lowering the tax burden on American businesses and developing aviation infrastructure.
"We're going to change all of that folks. You're going to be so happy with Trump. I think you already are," he said.
